TV, radio and cinema ads require pre-clearance in the UK. Many VoD publishers also need clearance advice from Clearcast. Have a look here if you want to find out more about which channels and services.

Pre-clearance is in place when the media owner has responsibility for compliance, for all other media it is the advertisers’ responsibility. Copy advice is available from CAP for media not requiring clearance.

The situation is slightly different for Cinema, call the Cinema Advertising Association on 077 126 75972 if you have a question.

The situation is different from country to country, so it is worth talking to the experts if you are working internationally - please check the international section of this website. Our Business Affairs service can help if you want to know more.
